Artist Statement
My artistic practice explores biodiversity and the relationship between humans and the natural environment, with a focus on how human activity shapes and transforms ecological systems. Alongside ecological themes, I am interested in the human mind — particularly memory, perception, and the layered nature of lived experience. These questions often emerge through old photographs, personal narratives, and fragments of lived or inherited memory. In my work, I return repeatedly to themes of fragility and continuity, as well as to the ways identity and experience are formed over time. Questions of motherhood and womanhood also appear in my practice as part of this broader interest in embodied experience. Technically, my practice spans both digital and traditional mediums, with a current focus on slower, more material approaches. Across my practice, I am drawn to ecological awareness, memory, and the material traces carried by images and objects over time.
